Went to familia for first time on 11-18-16; excessive wait times, and rooms are filthy. Staff is unorganized and unprofessional.

I was told to come back on 11-22-16 for numerous fillings. Male Dentist was arrogant and unpersonable. His accent too thick to understand his english. The assistant was the worse I ever had.

I have had dozens of procedures on my teeth and never feared dentistry until now! As they worked on teeth they were choking me as the assistant was in training and was not properly suctioning water. Dr worked insanely fast as I had at least 6 fillings (but was never told what they did or how many). No antibiotics were given prior to procedure, which I asked and they said not neccesary.

The moment I left the office I noticed my front tooth has a chunk of filling that was never filed down, I hadn't even left the dentist chair 1 minute and asked for them to correct ASAP! As it was hideous and wasn't even smoothed. I waited over an hour and a half and they even did additional xrays. Dr came in *** his incompetence and left room.

The next day I was in excruciating pain; went to family practioner and was given antibiotics and tramadol. As days went by, pain was unmanagable by over counter medication and tramadol was not effective. I would wake in midle of night in severe pain (throbbing, shooting, and tightness. The sensitivity was unreal as well.

So I went back on 12-1-16 and seen the same male dentist (still dont know his name). He glanced in mouth with mirror maybe 20 seconds and said everything was normal; and sent me on my way. Pain became even more severe, so I went back on 12-3-16 and requested another dentist. Waited for 1.5 hours.

She was much more personable, yet again, they don't explain anything and it took two times of xrays for them to get a pic. The couldn't determine which tooth or teeth was causing me pain; so they did this horrid sensitivity test with FREEZING cold and it literally made me scream in pain. Dr wasn't paying attention to which teeth it affected; so she did it again! Then tried to rush me off, as she didn't feel she knew what to do!??

I was shaking and crying in pain asked for topical to relieve the sensitivity after flash freeze test. She expressed lots of infection, which was NOT present prior to intial procedure. I asked if she had a script for antibiotic and she replied as if I was a fool , " Oh no need antiobiotic, we get you stronger pain med...." I was dumbfounded, as the two meds are nothing alike. They sent me on my way with a referal to an endodonsit in Alton, Il (3.5 hours away)!

They never told me why or anything. When i spoke to the Dental school they referred me to, she said they hadn't even received the referal; and its likely it was for a root canal! Which she seemed to believe I would need more than one! And unfortunately at this time of year, college students are on break.

She also mentioned one tooth would require three seperate visits!??? So I decided to look around for other places closer by, and I am ensuring to read reviews before I go to anyone! Yet most clinics feel there was no reason for them to refer me out, as Familia does root canals!? Most the staff is ok, yet unorganized, dirty rooms, long wait times, unprofessional bed side mannerisms, and quite honestly the worst experience I have ever had!

I never feared the Dentist until now. I am stil in excruciating pain and reached out to family practicioner for antibiotics which he said was ABSOLUTELY necessary and gave me a prescription for pain management. Familia Dental is the bottom feeders of all Dentistry clinics, I would only refer my worst enemy to go there! After secondary opinion , I may sue for malpractice!

As I am seriously distraught and in major pain. I have had to miss work for these office visits and they provided no help! Again, I did have a few cavities; but no pain at all....until they worked on my teeth.

Personally believe they hire people off streeet and Dentist were at bottom of graduating class; if even liscenced at all! I give them negative 5 stars and an "F"!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Familia Dental Cons: In pain and pissed off, Unorganized, Long wait times, Unprofessional, Incompetent dentists and staff.

Location: 1403 W Glen Ave, Peoria, IL 61614, USA

Update: I still have received no help! I faxed the proper paperwork to get records transfered to Secure Dental as going to dentistry school is impossible as it's too far away.

secure Dental was alarmed by the concept that they still didn't fix the cavities they claimed to insurance I go back to secure dental in Peoria on the 27th. I had to go to Familia in person and demand my records. We need to file a class action lawsuit!!!! And I need anyone regardless of location to join me!

I have not found a lawyer yet, but if we can file a complaint together, we can make a difference to keep others from experiencing the horror we have gone through! I am in excruciating pain a nd even strongest of pain meds and all the antibiotics haven't helped.

Again I was in ZERO pain prior to I totally visit! My number is 1-81*-***-****, if I can get your info we can speak to a lawyer as with any medical malpractice or false Insurance claims we need more than me to get the ball rolling!

I had a very similar experience. Was sent to Alton, was told I needed 2 root canals and only needed 1....plus MANY more similarities.

I left there yesterday in tears. None of the staff cared that they were letting me go with an infection and no script of antibiotics as well as no front tooth and a job interview today. I told the dentist I'm trying to get off food stamps and have a job interview the next day. I begged and cried literally for a temp tooth.

She had more excuses the Carter has liver pills. If you find a lawyer please contact me....maybe we can get more people and shut those doors forever!!!
